OUR HISTORY
CHOCOLAT AMMANN
CHOCOLAT AMMANN has been making chocolate and sweet, foamy specialities since 1949. Its modest beginnings, coupled with a great deal of talent for improvisation, have now been crowned with success: the ‘Mohrenkönige’ (Moorish kings) of the past grew into a modern and beloved royal family with local ties and high quality standards.
1949
Theodor Ammann founds Chocolat Ammann AG in Konolfingen. He started with a loan of 5,000 francs and the gold medal of his trade in his pocket.
1959
Launch of the Mohrenkönig brand and introduction of mechanised production.
1965
Relocation from Konolfingen to Heimberg, the current production site.
1984
Launch of the largest Mohrenkönig to date. The giant version weighing 240 grams proves extremely popular and is still made by hand today.
1996
A strawberry version is added to the selection of flavours.
2018
CHOCOLAT AMMANN has more than 40 employees, whose enthusiasm guarantees fluffy, sweet Swiss chocolate specialities that appeal to all the senses. A new owner gives the kingdom of sweet specialities a new lease of life. CHOCOLAT AMMANN consolidates its position on the national market and expands its international market.

OUR VISION
Light and airy meringue-based marshmallow, coated with the finest chocolate: that’s our speciality. We want to keep the successful recipe, develop it further with new shapes and flavours and thus create a unique and amazing new world of pleasure. Our creativity knows no bounds.
Sustainability is important to us. That’s why, in our production, we pay careful attention to the origin of the raw materials and welcome environmentally friendly solutions.
